This is a prestigious and competitive Simmons scholarship offered to students with exceptional academic achievements, a strong commitment to their community, and a passion for creating positive change in society. Scholars become part of a dynamic campus community that offers a multitude of opportunities for personal and intellectual growth, cultural exploration, and social engagement.

This scholarship is awarded for the duration of a four-year period of full-time undergraduate study, and supersedes any previously awarded merit scholarship.

Students applying for the Simmons Distinguished Scholar Award must meet the following criteria:

Apply as a first-year student for the fall semester
A minimum GPA of 3.50
A record of taking college prep, AP, or IB Courses
English Proficiency is required for non-native English speakers.
Standardized test scores (optional) of 28+ ACT or 1300+ SAT
Community Involvement: Applicants should showcase a history of active engagement in their community through volunteer work, leadership roles, or other forms.
Passion for the Field: Applicants should demonstrate a passion for their chosen field of study. This passion should be evident in their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and resume.
Students who meet the criteria above are often also interested in the Honors Program at Simmons.

Applicants must complete and submit both their scholarship application and their admission application to the University by December 1.

Finalists for scholarship consideration will be notified in mid-January. Recipients will be notified by March 1.

Scholarships for Prospective Undergraduate Students

International students have the opportunity to gain admission scholarship at Sabancı University. Every international candidate, who applies to Sabanci University, is evaluated for a scholarship automatically when they fulfill the application requirements. However, please keep in mind that there are limited numbers of scholarships in all levels and competition is very keen. Thus, certain scores do not guarantee specific scholarship levels. While filling out the application form, you can fill in the related area to demonstrate that you would like to be considered for a scholarship. Yet, keep in mind that all applicants are automatically evaluated for scholarship even if they do not fill this section. Additionally, please note that there is a chance to request scholarships when you complete at least two semesters as SU with outstanding grades. See the scholarship option offered during studies.

Please note that your academic background, reference letters, exam results, transcripts, interview results and any document showing your academic success such as prizes in the competitions, any Olympiad certificates will be considered by the Scholarship Committee. Therefore, you should not miss out uploading these types of documents. Scholarship committee reserves the rights to request additional documents and/or conditions from prospective students. Once you are granted a scholarship during the admittance, it goes on for your regular education period.

The Richard Kelly Grant was established by the New York Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society in 1980. Originally conceived as a scholarship program and later opened to young persons working in lighting in North America, the Grant is administered by the New York Section under the auspices of the IES.

PURPOSE OF THE GRANT
To recognize and encourage creative thought and activity in the use of light. Cash award(s) will be granted to the person(s) who preserve and carry forth Richard Kelly’s ideals, enthusiasm and reverence for light.

GRANT PROPOSALS ARE BEING ACCEPTED
Deadline June 30, 2024

ELIGIBILITY
Anyone 35 years or under, studying or working in the art and/or science of illumination, in the United States, Canada or Mexico.

CRITERIA
Applicant must demonstrate accomplishment as well as the potential to contribute to the art and science of illumination. Proposed, completed, and on-going work involving light may be submitted and should clearly illustrate the way in which the conceptual or applied use of light in new and innovative ways is used to solve or better understand a problem.

The Grant Committee will consider works using light in:
Architecture • Art • Education • Environmental Design • Health • Fixture Design • Software Design • Theater

Internships at Max Planck Institutes in Computer Science
The Max Planck Institutes for Informatics (Saarbruecken), Software Systems (Saarbruecken and Kaiserslautern), and Security and Privacy (Bochum) offer research internships in all areas of Computer Science. An internship at a Max Planck Institute is a way to pursue world-class research in computer science! Our internships are also an excellent way to explore research or new research areas for the first time.

Internships are open to exceptional Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral students worldwide, as well as exceptional individuals from industry interested in gaining academic research experience in computer science. Intern positions are limited and admissions are very competitive

We welcome interns all year round, but most interns prefer the summer months. Every intern works directly with an assigned faculty mentor at one of the participating institutes. Internship projects are based on the intern’s academic interests, maturity and prior experience.

All internships are fully funded, covering living costs, housing and roundtrip travel costs. A typical internship lasts 12 to 14 weeks, but longer internships are possible.

The application deadline for summer internships (i.e., those starting between May and August) is November 1 of the previous year. If you apply for this deadline and your application is successful, you should hear from us before 1st of March.

For an internship starting outside the summer months, please apply at least 5 months ahead of your intended starting date. Note that applications for internships outside summer months are considered based on the needs of individual projects and research groups. If such an application is successful, you should hear back within 3-4 months from the time you applied.

Entrance Scholarships
Canadian and International Students

All entering students who wish to be considered for entrance scholarships must submit the following in addition to an admission application:

Students must be currently enrolled in their program of transfer

Minimum 80% average as determined by CBU to be eligible with no failures

No failures in Grade 11 courses
Average is based on the five AC & AD courses required for your program’s admission. The final Grade 11 grades will be used to determine the average

The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities – GCUB is pleased to announce the Third Edition of the GCUB International Mobility Program – GCUB-Mob.

The GCUB International Mobility Program – GCUB-Mob is promoted by GCUB, with the support of Instituto Guimarães Rosa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, the Organization of Southern Cooperation – OSC, the Organization of American States – OAS, the Conselho Nacional das State Research Support Foundations – CONFAP , the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean – UDUALC and the Consejo Superior Universitario Centroamericano – CSUCA; and in partnership with the National Commission of UNESCO for Brazil and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie – AUF.

The Program aims to contribute to the development of high academic level students from the five continents, as well as promoting university internationalization and strengthening international cooperation between Brazilian universities and institutions of other countries.
More than 800 master's and doctoral degree scholarships will be awarded in this edition, by 55 Brazilian universities, whose programs will begin in 2025.
Students may apply from May 2nd.

Registration will close at 23:59 (BRT) on June 17th, 2024.

JIANGXI PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students is established by JIANGXI Provincial Government aiming to attract and encourage excellent international students to study in Jiangxi. It is evaluated and approved by Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Education and issued by Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Finance. The duration of the scholarship is for 1 academic year.

Amount
1. Scholarship B (RMB20, 000): for the students who study Bachelor Degree Program.
2. Scholarship C (RMB6, 000): for long-term non-degree program students (over six months).

CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY
a. Applicants for bachelor degree program (Scholarship B) must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 25.
b. Applicants for short-term or exchange program must study more than 6 months.
c. Applicants for Chinese taught courses must provide HSK certificate.
d. Excellent academic performance
e. Not sponsored by any other kind of scholarship.
